I want to start this post with something cheerful. Like strawberry shortcake manytails style 😉 We had quite afew strawberries coming in and it was perfect timing. It was made in a pie dish and cut in wedges. Homemade whipped cream and lightly cooked strawberry preserve to top it off
The recipe can be found on this link http://www.onehundreddollarsamonth.com/strawberry-sheet-shortcake/

Molly ans Suzy got sheared. I must say, sheepn sharing is one of a very few tasks I am not fond off. It is hot and sticky business not enjoyed by either a sheep or the person. It is easier when they have horns, to use as handles 😉 However, this year the girls were a model of sheeply behavoiur and it did not even take yus an hour to do them. They are a lot happier now, even though it is difficult to tell with sheep 😉

I found a little rat baby crawling in the barn and simply could not let the chickens kill him. So I brought him in and fed him formula for a few days. He was about two weeks old, eyes were closed still. It was great fun to watch him open his eyes and start taking solid food. We named him Jolly Littlebottom. However, a few weeks later I did not latch the cage door tight enough and he was gone. Probably by now has joined the barn rats family. Oh well, so long Jolly, stay away from chickens!

Ugh…roof again! If I never have to touch another roof shingle, it will be too soon.
That was truly an adventure, which, thankfully, ended with success. A fallen tree branch knocked down some of the shingles on thye garage and it started getting pretty wet inside there in rainy weather. The pitch is rather steep and it was super scary just to think about climbing up there. But here is Dear Husband smiling broadly after having tackled the problem and I could breath again and take pictures. After all, it did not happen if no pictures to show 😉

Half the hay is in for the season. We have been wanting to start putting up our own hay, but after careful consideration decided against it. Some things you just should not be doing and it is importaint to realize that.

The garden is doing it’s thing. A little bit of everything starting to show up and now I wish that I should have made a bigger garden this year. But on the other hand, I am glad that we are able to spend time on other projects, planned and otherwise.
