May is my Birthday month. And as I get older (and older) it becomes more enjoyable. Gone is the anticipation of something magical that you think is going to happen and it never does. Gone is the anguish of opening the presents that you won’t like and the disappointment of finding out that not all you supposed friends remember the date.

A card from the Child, toys from the husband, a home made cake…what can be better than this?

Our two Muscovy ducks hatched themselves a little duckling. Just one. Then they promptly forgot that they had another ten eggs to sit on…bird brains…

Wine caps are coming up in one spot. The one that was planted with little wooden plugs. The one seeded over sawdust is still dormant. Funny thing how the night before you don’t see anything and the next morning they are the size of  dinner plates!

Here is my tomato plant, one of 25 ( so much for the smaller garden), looking all big and brave, ready to go into the soil.

Here is the same little puny plant in the raised bed. Good luck, little buddy!
